    QN1803 (also known as 304D) is a recently developed new type of high-strength stainless steel. It is the first nitrogen-containing austenitic stainless steel. Compared to the widely used EN 1.4301 stainless steel, it has higher corrosion resistance, lower costs due to lower nickel content (estimated 20%) and higher yield strength (estimated 40%). The chromium content of QN1803 stainless steel ranges from 17.5% to 19.5%, which is similar to the chromium composition of S30408 ​​stainless steel. This shows that QN1803 stainless steel has the same anti-corrosion properties as S30408. Therefore, QN1803 can be used as an alternative to EN 1.4301 for large steel structures.
