Introduction of 6 conventional surfaces of stainless steel

Introduction of 6 conventional surfaces of stainless steel

There are 6 main types of conventional stainless steel surface treatment, the main introduction is as follows:

2B Finished:

2B finish is a mill finish, which is smooth and NOT the brushed finish commonly seen on kitchen appliances. 2B finish, light gray in color, may or may not have a protective film on one side to prevent scratching.

BA Finished:

Bright annealed (BA) finish is cold rolled stainless steel that is annealed in a controlled atmosphere to retain a highly reflective finish. Although it is not completely identical to the #8 mirror finish, it appears to be very similar. Generally speaking bright annealed finish has a PVC film on one side to help protect against scratching during fabrication and installation.

8K Finished:

8K(#8) mirror has a non-directional finish that virtually looks like a mirror. It possesses a highly polished finish and does not contain or have a coating or finishing material to give it reflectivity. #8 mirror comes with a layer of PVC film to protect the mirror finish during fabrication and installation.

NO.4/#4/Satin Finished:

NO.4 (#4) finish is the brushed finish commonly seen on kitchen appliances and backsplashes. And it has a PVC film on one side to help protect against scratching during fabrication and installation.

Hairline Finished:

Hairline finish has long, continuous and uni-directional grind marks parallel to the longitude of the panel.By using specialized grinding technique, the grain size can be adjusted, as exemplified by defined hairline and scratch hairline. As a guideline, the quality of the finish is equivalent to that applied by the material provider.

NO.1/#1/2D/2E Finished:

NO.1 is a rough, dull and non-uniform finish, which results from hot rolling to the specified thickness, followed by annealing and descaling. It’s generally used in industrial applications, such as equipment for elevated temperatures service, checker plate and etc.
